DEATH OF A FORGER.
Received March 29, 9 a.ir.. LONDON, March 28. The death is announced of Wiliam Roupell, formerly mamber of . Parliament for] Lambeth, who in 1862 was sentenced to penal servitude for life for s'elf-confesstsd for- j. gery. William Roupell was the son of a wealthy landowner of Lambeth, and on the death of his father came in for a largd amount of money. He quickly got through it, however, then committed the forgery which resulted in his sentence. The confession was made during the hearing of a case Roupell v. Waite, in which W. Roupell was a witness. He not only confessed to the forgery of a will, but to other frauds. Roupell was released in 1876.
