AUSTRIA AND SERVIA.
Received March 9, 12.15 a.m. VIENNA, March 8. In view of the reported tenor of Servia's reply to Russia, Baron von Aehrenthal, Austrian Minister for Foreign Affairs, has intimated that when Servia assures Austria of her intention to maintain peaceful relations he will be prepared to negotiate for the renewal of the commercial treaty expiring on March 31st. He objects to the proposed conference of the Powers being held until matters are arranged with Servia. ST. PETERSBURG, March 8. Although official circles in St. Petersburg are optimistic the Russian people are pessimistic, believing Austria's aim is to humiliate Servia.
