(From Our Own Correspondent.) « * Tuesday. At the half-yearly installation .meeting of the Totara. Lodge, _JfcJ.A.O.D., held Jasc evening, the fclofficers were elected for the ensuing term-—A.D., Bro. Mansfield;. V.A., Bro. G. Hart; secretary, Bro. H. Hart; Treasurer, Bro. E. Martin; 1.G., Bro. Stove; A.D.B's, Eros. G.'Arcus and C. Fairbrother; V.A.8., Bro. N. McKenzie; 0.G., Bro. E. McKenzie. During the evening Mr C. Billman, who has lately been transferred to the Woodville branch of the Railway Department, • was presented by the brethren with a gold service medal, and a rase of pipes. Bro. Mansueld made the presentation. The recrudescence of the scarlet fever epidemic is again causing much alarm, a number of cases having occurred during the last few days. A fresh case was reported to the authorities to-day, the patient being resident in the county. At the Carterton courtrnuse, this morning, a meeting of creditors in the estate of J. E. Blade, bankrupt, was held before Mr W. B. Chennells. Deputy Official Assignee. Bankrupt stated thac in June of last year he commenced business in Carterton with about £25. He then owed £3O or £4O. Nearly all these debts had been paid since he had been in business. He attributed his bankruptcy to the heavy , medical expenses incurred from time to time through the illness of his wife. He filed on account of the pressure of his creditors. A motion to recommend the bankrupt for his immediate discharge was put to the meeting and lost. It was rei solved to have a valuation of the * bankrupt's furniture made, so that he could keep the amount allowed him under the Act. The meeting then adjourned. '
