JIV TKIiEOKAPH - PRESS ASSOCIATION". AUCKLAND, Decembers. Sir Joseph Ward arrived, this morning, for the purpose of selecting one out of the five proposed sites for the new post-office. He will return to-morrow, and will visit Auckland again about January 15th, remaining in the. district about a month. In an interview he stated that the financial crisis in-America had not affected New Zealand. All the million loan for public works had been se:uied on satisfactory terms, and £BOO,OOO for the purchase of giltedged securities in London had been obtained without going on the London money market. The financial position of the dominion had never been stronger than at present. The new tariff was having a very beneficial effect on trade. No established industries had been affected, while already' three new industrial concerns were about to commence as a result of its operations.
