SITUATION IN INDIA.
PREVENTION OF SEDITIOUS MEETINGS.
A BILL PASSED. Received November 3, 4.20 p.m. BOMBAY, November 2. The Legislative Council, by nine to three, adopted the Prevention of Seditious Meetings Bill. Lord Minto, Viceroy of India, in a firm speech, remarked that while repressing sedition, the Government had no wish to check the growth of political thought.
