STRANDING OF THE COMMONWEALTH
Received September 4, 10.18 p.m. LONDON, September 4. The court-martial reprimanded Captain Browning for default in connection with the stranding of the battleship Commonwealth, but dismissed the charge of negligence. (The battleship Commonwealth grounded on a rock in Lam lash Bay, in the Isle of Arran, starting some of the rivets in the bottom amidships. The vessel was .refloated, in a leaking condition, and steamed to Devonport, where she was docked.)
