EMPIRE POSTAL RIFLE MATCH.

Received September 4, 12.40 a.m. SYDNEY, September 4. The Empire postal rifle match was fired to-day. New South Wales, Victoria, New Zealand, Transvaal, Canada and England competed. The local team fired under most favourable weather conditions, and scored 900. Victoria scored 890. The oversea results are expected tomorrow. By Telegraph —Press Association. WELLINGTON, September 4. The Wellington Post and Telegraph Rifles fired, to-day, in a ten-man match against the postal teams of London, Montreal. Natal, Melbourne and Sydney. The local men fired in heavy rain, and compiled a total of 838 at the 200, 500 and 600 yards range; seven shots at each range.
