WAIRARAPA THURSDAY REPS. v. WELLINGTON WEDNESDAY KEPS. Teams representing the Wairarapa Thursday Union and the Wellington Wednesday Union mot at Caitorton yesterday. The following wore the teams:— Wairarapa. Fallback, Holms: threequarters, Flaws, McGuinnese, Perrin; fire-eighth, N. McKeuzie (oaptain); half, McKinnou; wiug3, G. Ball and M. O'Leary; forwards, Jackson. Hunter, Callister, Leviob, Phelps, N. Fnirfcrother, and Wickens. Wellington. Fullback, Rogers; threequarters, Kelly (oaptaiu), Kivell, White; flee-eight.hs, Hunt; half, E?ison; wings, Dwyer and Rankin; forwards, Tilley, Mowatt, Trimble, Griffin, Skinner, Gosling and Klee. Shortly after the kiok-off, Wellington took the ball into the home 25'e. Flaws sent the ball back smarmy. From a scrum the Wellington backs broke away, but Leviok and MoKiunon stopped what appeared to be a dangerous rush. From a free kick McKeczie had a shot at goal. Wairar&ca attacked strongly, and forced Wellington on several oooaaions. The visitors then rallied, and from a scrum near'the line Kelly cut in and scored. The attempt at goal waa a failure. W airarapa then worked the hall down into the visitors' territory for a time. Flaws, despite the fact that his thumb waa injured early in the game, waa p'aying a powerful game, tie snapped up the ball, and dodging about six of the Wellington backs, scored the first try for the home team. MoGuinness failed to convert. At half-time the scores were— Wairarapa 3 Wellington 3 On resuming the visitors attaoked, aud compelled the home team to force down twioe in succession. Wairarapa rallied ana kept the visitors busy defending their line for some time. Hunter very nearly soored. The visitors relieved the pressure. From a scrum near the line Hunt scored a try. Evison failed to convert. Wellington, 6; Wairarapa, 3 Shortly after Kivell scored. White failed to add the extra points. From then till the end of the game Wellington had slightly the better of the play, but the home team occasionally put in good work. The final scores were— Wellington 9 Wairarapa 3 Mr E. MoKenzie was referee, and Messrs O'Sullivan (Wellington) and K. Armstrong (Wairarapa) were line umpires. The sum of £3 15s 6d waa taken at the gates.

TARANAKI v. WANGANUI. By Telegraph—Press Association. STRATFORD, September 33. The representative match, Wanganui v. Taranaki, was played today, in splendid weather, in the first spell Craig kioked two penalty goals for Wanganni. Shortly after the commencement of the second spbll Wanganui obtained a try. Taranaki then livened up, and opened the score with a goal from a penalty. Ward then scored a try, which was converged by Hardgreaves. O'Sullivan was the next to score, and soon after Ward again scored. The iatter's try was converted by Hardgreaves. Cameron brilliantly scored in the comer, and then Ward obtained his third try. Crowley, just on the call of time, obtained nnother try, and the game ended— Taranaki 25, Wanagnui 9.
