WILD WEST BATTLE.

FIERCER FIGHT BETWEEN MEXICANS AND AMERICANS. Recoct telegrams frnm Naco, Ari zona, stated that one of the moat desperate strike riots known for years had taken place at Oananea, Mexico, ;{ between Americans and Mexicans, at the mines of the Greene Consolidated Copper Company, between three and four thousand miners are employed at these works, the majority of whom are Mexicans. Th« latter struck work and declared war on the Yankees. The Americans barricaded themselves after a preliminary ENCOUNTER WITH THE MEXI,OANti, in which men were killed on both Aides. The strikers were held at bay for some time, but finally obtaining dynamite, they made a determined attack upon the Americans, and BLEW UP SEVEjKAL of the managers' houses' and buildings connected with the works. A □umber of men havejbeen killed on both sides, reports variously stating the number to be anywhere from 20 to 100. President Diaz, of Mexico, ordered troops to the eoene, fand Governor Ysabel, Fof the State of Sonora, rushed all the troops available from Hermosillo, but they were either inefficient or disaffeoted, and the Governor went to Naco to obtain reinforcements from the Americans who were ready and anxious to cross the border. Several hundred oowboys, fully armed, went back with Governor Ysabel, and the latest dispatches stated THAT THE RIOTERS WERE ROUTED with considerable loss. Several minor rows have grown out of attempts made on the part of Americans to 01088 the border to the assistance of their countrymen, and who were opposed by the Mexioan authorities. The whole American border was stirred up, and had it not been for the timely authorisation to the Americans by Governor Ysabel, a looal war between Americans and Mexicans would have inevitably been the lesult. The danger of a racial feud is by no means past, as both sides are HIGHLY EXCITED BY THE CONFLICT and the killing of their compatriots. Further reinforcements, however, of Mexioan troops were sent by President Diaz, and Amerioan regulars from Tucson, Arizona, were ordered by the War Department in Washing, ton to proceed to the"scene and astiist the Mexicans in keeping order. This was done at the request oi the Mexican authorities, who ap> parectly felt unable to cope witi the The family of Mi Greene were rescued from his honse whicn was besieged, and sent tt Naco, where they arrived safe.
