SOCIAL TO MR LEARY.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—l notice with plousure the advertisement to give a send off social to our esteemed friend Mr H. H. Lcary. What about Mrs Loary t lam given to understand it is to be a smoke concert —females strictly debarred. At this period in the history of our nation I think we, the women of the Empire, have earned the right to stand beside, our so-called lords and masters. When will the old Asiatic doctrine exeluding the women be eradicated. I hope our Mayor will rise to the occasion and have the soeial open to ladies as well at gentlemen.—l am, etc., A WOMAN.
