At the conclusion of the proceedings iu the Magistrate's and Warden's Court yesterday afternoon Mr F'iulaysou, on behalf of the members of Hie Bar expressed regret that the le-atraugmeut oi districts necessitated this ueiug tlie last occasiou on which His Worship would pieside over the local Magistrate's and Warden's Couit. His Worship be said had presided over this Court lor a little over 4 years during which periud the relationship between the Bench and the liar had ueeu of the most cordial nature aud there had been a desire on both siUes to be helpiul to each other in carrying on the business of the Courts. They were pleased to express their appreciation oi the eliicieut, painstaking aud obliging manner in which His Worship had carried out his responsible duties while presiding over the local Couitsand they wished lam every success and happiness in his future career as a magistrate.

Mr Bartholomew thanked the members cf the Bar for their kind leuiaiks and their appreciation of his work. He regretted seveiiug his connection with this Caurt which ue had presided over for uearly five years. During that period his relations with the members of the Bar hau been most satisfactory aud the assistance he hau received had gone a long way to make his position pleasant and easier than it otherwise would have been. He had always made a jpoint to consider the interests of the public in regard to Court work and at the same time do his duty towards the public. He concluded by agaiu thaukiug Mr Fiulaysou and fellow members of the Bar lor their expressions ot appreciation and good wishes.
