The Kaimata Murder.
•JbDGAILM FOR VALUE OF JiOUsii UKSTROAED. ttIHV PLYMOUTH, February 4. An echo of the Kaimata tragedy, in. which Gladys Julian, Frank Smith, and IvJwurd Julian were killed by iredei-ick James Virgin, was heard in the Supreme Court to-day. Fvu Julian, widow of Fdward Julian, proceeded against the [Public Trustee,, for'the value of the house and furniture destroyed by lire by Virgin. The children Vicrner Julian and Dorothy Julian, who escaped from the house where the crime was committed, again told the story of the murder, with harrowing details. The eaße for the defendant was that there were no facts ' to piove that Urgin wilfully caused the lire. It was argued that although {Virgin committed the murder, yet he Was msane, and the tire might have been accidental. Airs Virgin was called to prove that Julian's furnituro was not so valuable as the plaiutili claimed. Tho jury returned a verdict for £J2O damages.
Mr Weston, for the defence, asked for a non-suit on the grounds that there Iwere no facts for the jury. The jwry withdrew and again gave judgment for the plaintiff for £720 Costs will be fixed.
