GREENFIELD BATCHELOR'S BALL
The annual ball of the Greenfield bachelors which was held in tin; Greenfield Hall on the evening of llm 'ltith inst., was as usual an unqualified success. About seventy couples were pnsent, Lawrence, Waitahunn. Halclutha, Hilend and surroundin'sjdis* tricts being all well represented. Tin" hall was tastefully decorated for tin; occasi.cn and tlvo committee under the chairmanship of Mr Cottcrel am to bo complimented upon the very satisfactory manner in which all the many details ;for the .comfort and enjoyment of their guests were carried out. The music, which was supplied bv Miss Broderick (piano) . and Messrs Ryan (violin) and Russell (cornet I was nil that cculd be desired and added («re u tly to the pleasure of the dancers. Thu catering was in the hands of Mr Wilson, of Clydevale, who gave every satisfaction in this impcrtant department. The duties of M.C. were shared by Tfc Herbison of Balclutha and Mr W. Drain, Tuapcka Mouth, and unit dcr these gentlemen's control dancing was kept going with zest till nu early hf-ur. Without detracting from ?he merits of previous functions of a similar nature it was generally conceded ibv all present that the Greenfield Bachelors' Ball of 1912 was the most, successful yet hold.
