MEIKLE ONCE MORE.
WELLINGTON, August 7. John James Meikle once more begins to figure in the proceedings of ■Parliament through Mr Lang. He has petitioned the House to grant inquiry into the conduct of Sir John Findlay and Mr T. M. Macdouald before the ltoyal Commission at Dunediu in May, 1900, to investigate the circumstances of his wrongful imprisonment, on account of which he received a substantial sum in compensation. Meikle alleges that the Judges comprising the Commission ignored the Order of Reference, n,nd allowed counsel to vilify petitioner and his witnesses. " Counsel's statement for the Crown contained an 80 per cent, lie," he declares.
