LEAVES NEW ZEALAND IN DECEMBER. WELLINGTON, July 26. Tho Prime Minister states that the Governor has practically decided to accept the position of -president ol the Indian Public Service Commission. His Excellency will leavo New Zcalaud in December, by whioh time tho now 'Governor will probably bo here. "Wo shall all be sorry to lose His Excellency,'' added Mr Massey, " but at tho same time we must, congratulate him on having been selected for such a high and honourable position." The l'ost is informed that Lord Islington only accepted the position under cansideifllble pressure from .Mr Asquith and the Secretary of State [or India a nd the Colonies.
