FOOTBALL.
The Lawrence Star and Waitahuna Clutbs miet in a flag matoh 011 Glasgow Park 011 Wednesday afternoon. The weather was fine and there was a very fair mimibor of spectators present. Neither team was at- full strength. Star was without the services of Swan, Kennedy and \V. Christie, and Waitahuna had to iill several vacancies with schoolboys. Star had the -best of the game throughout, winning by fourteen points to 0. In tho first'spelt Glen scored a try but tho kick at goal failed to add tho additional points. In the second spell the Wail alum a team showed lack of form ;ind Star .had no difficulty in adding eleven more points to their score, viz., a converted try secured by Aitken, a penalty g-oal and a try bv W. Dick. Oil the whole Star did not play a strong game but the work done by Jerred, Aitken, and Talboys was abovo tho average. Considering the lightness of the "Waitahuna team and tho youth of several of tho players it much 'bo said they .made a very good stand. Mr MoK, Miller was referee.
