WAITAHUNA SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the Waitahuna School Committee was held on Monnay evening laat and attended by Messrs J. Cowen (ohairman), M'Caw, Toner, Ellis, and M'Ara. A memo was read from the Secretary of the Education Board advising the remittance of quarterly allowanoo, paid in to the Bank of Near Zealand. — Received. The head teacher reportrd the attendance for the month ending September 30th to be —Boys, 33 ; girls, 31 : total, 64. Number at present on the roll— Boys, 38 ; girls, 42 ; total, 80. It was unanimously resolved to hold a social in aid of the school funds on Wednesday, October 30 tb, and a sub-committee was formed consisting of the Chairman, Secretary, and Messrs Patrick, Toner, and Ellis to make all the necessary arrangements. It was also resolved to get the flag-pole dressed, painted, and erected ready for use on the day of the school children's annual pionio, to be held on Thursday, 19th December. Accounts amounting to £6 14s 4d were passed for payment.
