LAWRENCE GYMNASIUM.

The Lawrence Gymnastic Club closed its season on Thursday evening, when an exhibition by the pupil 3 was given in the Volunteer Hall before a fair attendance of the public. For the purpose of awarding prizes for profioienoy, Messrs W. R. Pearson and Geo. Martin were appointed judges. Mr W. Wallace (instructor; put the youngsters tbroufeb. a series of exercises with wands, dumb-bells, and clubs, and horse vaulting, in each of which the class showed great proficiency.

At the conclusion, Mr Pearson, in complimenting the boys on the manner in which they had performed their work, said the duty of selecting the winners had been an exceedingly difficult one. In olub-swinging Master Crawford Eyes had shown the most proficiency, and therefore gained the medal. For the best all-round gymoast their decision had fallen on Master James Norrie.

- Mr A. M. Eyes (president) presented the medals to the winners and expressed the hope that they would continue their course of training when the gymnasium opened again next winter. On behalf of the pupils, he presented Mr Wallace with a silver-mounted purse and pocket-book.
