CRICKET.
WAITAHUNA v. PRIVATEERS (Dunedin.)
A good game of cricket between our local team and the Privateers was played on the Waitahuna cricket ground on New Year's Day. The game was decided on the first innings, the Privateers proving too much for our men and winning the match by 38 runs. Captain Wardrop's bowling was very hard to play, and a number of our local men did not feel at all athome when facing it. The attendance was large, the hall being packed to the door. The Privateers gave the entertainment, which was a very good one. Tha gross proceeds were nearly £12 and, as the expefles Were small, a good Bum will be available for the benefit of the club. — Correspondent.
