BOROUGH OF LAWRENCE.
me annual meeting of the committee of the Borough of Lawrence licensing district was held at the courthouse yesterday, the members in attendance being Messrs W. Chalmers (Chairman), Fraer, Walker, and Jeffery. The following applications for renewal of eleven o'clock publicans' licenses were granted: — John Eoughan, Camp Hotel; R. Montgomery, Victoria Hotel ; J. Johnson, Commercial Hotel; J. Chalmers, Royal George Hotel ; S. Airey, Ross Place Hotel ; R. Webb, Masonic Hotel; S. P. Craig, Railway Hotel. The following applications for renewal of bottle licenses were also granted :— A. M'Kinlay, Thof. Arthur, and P. Oudaille. The report submitted by the Police (represented by Sergeant Conn) was favour, able to all licensed holders. Mr Praer said it was very satisfactory to all concerned that the hotels in the borough were all so well conducted. A vote of thanks was accoi'ded the Police for their report, and a similar compliment accorded the clerk of the Committee (Mr H. J. Abel.) • x This was all the business.
