CHEISTCHURCH CORN EXCHANGE.

The following is the Corn Exchange report for the week ending Saturday, sth March, 1892 :—

The lines of wheat offering are limited, and prime wheat difficult to get. Oats are good in quality ; bright long Tartars are asked for. Barely, on the whole, very lean, and ideas of value differ very much, but we think our maltsters will have to modify their views as to what is a fair malting sample for the season. We hear from all directions the threshing machines are showing a considerable shortage in the crop, and very few farmers are getting the quantity they anticipated. The following are the latest quotations :—

Wheat: Hunters, 3s 6d; pearl, 3s 7d; Tuscan, 3s 9d ; damaged and broken, 2s 6d to 3s.

Oats : Good feed, Is 6d to Is 7d j milling, Is 9dj bright long Tartars, Is Bd. Barley, nominal.
