DUNEDIN GRAIN MARKETS, &c.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) report for the week ended February 10, as follows: —

Wheat. — In this cereal there is practically no business doing. Fowls' wheat of late has been more plentiful, and as the produce merchants decline to saddle tbetnselves with stocks at the high rates ruling a few weeks ago prices have given way. We quote (nominally) : Prime milling, 4s 9d to ss ; medium do, 4a 5d to 4s 8d ; fowls' wheat, 2s to 3s 6d.

Oats. — A rather better demand has been experienced this week, and as the quantity offering was not large the present supply has been nearly exhausted. Small as the supply was, however, it was quite sufficient to satisfy the demand, which though better than last week, was hot difficult to meet, and as sufficient quantities are arriving to meet requirements there is little prospect improving. We qnote prime milling Is 7d to Is 7£d, heavy feed Is 6d to Is 7d, inferior feed Is 2d to Is sd.

Barley. — Nothing doing. Grass Seed. — Buyers' limits will not at present allow of their giving more than from 23 9d to 3a for machine-dressed or farmers' clean dressed seed of good quality; and dirty seed in proportion to estimated loss in cleaning.

flax. — Consignments of bright and well scutched fibre meet with a ready sale ac former quotations.
