HORSE~REPORT. Messrs Weight, Stbfhenson and Co. report as follows : — We held our weekly sale on Saturday last as usual. Only a moderate number of horses came forward, and as the export trade is at present at a standstill but little business was done. We quote first-class young heavy draughts at from £18 to £23 ; medium do, £10 to £15 ; first class hacks and Hoht-bawseas horses. £16 to £20 ; medium do, £6 to £10 ; light and weedy, £1 10s to £3. pearl and Hunter's to local millers at prices from 3b Id to Sa 2}d. Tuscan is very much neglected, buyers not cariDg to touch it at over 3d Id, and this price is not given to complete orders on band. Chicken wheat has a good inquiry at 2s lOd to 2s lid for whole, at 2s 6d to 2s 7d for broken. Oats. — Old linesare being cleared slowly at Is 8d for short heavy feed. New oats are offering at Is 61 to IBSd, but up to the time of writing few sales have been effected. Barley.-— We hear of a sale of the new season's growth at 4s, delivery to be prompt. We expect that this figure will be maintained for prime samples, There are rumours that it is the intention to import from California, so that farmers should be careful to not overstep the market with regard to prioes.
