The attention of our readers is specially requested to the following, which appear in our advertising columns this morning :~ Thubsdat, 9th February. Mr J. C. Arbuclde's sale at his yards, Waitahuna — Sheep, cattle, &c., at 1 p.m. Polling for election of five members of Waitahuna. Licensing Committee, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pridat, 10th Pebeuart. Government inspection of Waitahuna Rifles, Good Templars' Hall, at 8 p.m. Tenders close at County Chambers for contracts Nos. 313 to 317, at noon. Saturdat, 11th Februart. Public meeting in schoolhouse, Tuapeka West, re rates for harvesting and threshing, at 8 p.m. Gipsy Encampment, this and Monday evening, at 8 o'clock. Sunday, 12th Fbbruary. Services in Wesleyan Churches at Lawrence, Blue Spur, and Clarks Flat. A meeting will be held in Mr T. J. Miles' office, Tapanui, on Friday, 17th instant,. to consider the present unsatisfactory manner of ear-marking under the Branding Act, 1880. A meeting of retepayers interested in the closing of road No. 30, Waitahuna riding, will be held in Mr R. Ford's residence, Murrays Flat, on Friday. 24th instant, at 4 p.m. A public meeting will be held in the schoolhouse, Tuapeka West, on Saturday evening, at 8 o'clock, to determine the rates to be paid for harvesting and threshing. Messrs Moritzon and Hopkin, Dunedin, are prepared to receive all kinds of grain and produce for sale or storage. MrW. Auld, general merchant, Waitahuna, will hold a great clearing sale, commencing on Saturday, 11th instant. Mr J. C. Arbnclcle has a timberyard, well-stocked, and favourably situated, for sale. Mr M'Farlane, ready.money draper, is offering the balance of his summer goods at bargain prices. A Crown lands sale will be held in Dunedin on Tuesday, 28th instant, at noon. Mr j no. Ross invites tenders, receivable up till the 16th instant, for cutting, binding, and stooking 70 acres oats and 10 acres barley at Waitahuna East. Mr M. Fraer is selling off his large stock of new goods at wholesale prices. The monthly inspection of the Waitahuna Rifles takes place on Friday night at 8 o'clock.
