{From our-own Correspwndmt.) m THE COLLISION IN THE HARBOUR. DtrsntDiN, January 18th. The enquiry into the circumstances of the collision between the Omapere and the dredge was continued to-day. The evidence given as to the damage done to the Omapere estimates the damage at £300 to £400. THE GREAT BARRIER MURDER. The trial of Caffrey and Perm for the murder of T&ylor at the Great Barrier Isiand was commenced at Auckland today. The evidence of Grace Graham or Cleary was strong against Caffrey. She denied that she stated that Perm had fired • shot. THE KAITANGATA STRIKE. The Bootmakers' Union and the Seamen's Union have voted £25 and £20, respectively, to the Kaitangata miners on strike. THE BOWIJNG TOURNAMENT. Some exoeption is being taken to the bowling matoh between the Dunedin and Caledonian clubs on Saturday, as it will be giving practice to the Dunedin players on tho green where they meet most of the country clubs.
