MELBOURNE MARKETS.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited), reports under date 12th M»rch, as follows :—: — Wheat. — There bos b^cn a very good business done, and since our last report at the close of last week growers have had to make some concessions, and some large parcels sold at 3s lOJd to 3i lid. At our auction sale today we sold some good lines at 3a lOd to 3s lOJdf the latter for prime samples ; also a small lot of seed red wheat at ss. Oats. — The supply is still in excess of mar* ket requirements, and except for choice lots of seed and prime milling quotations remain still low. The yield will be large this season — in excess of last year. The quotations are — For Calcutta, 2s 4d to 2s sd ; thin Tartarian, 2s 3d to 2s 6d, according to quality, 2s 7d to 2s 8d for fair and good stout samples } 2s 9d for heavy, and 2s lid for prime.
