LAND BOARD.
The ordinary mesting of the Land Board was held xm Wednesday last. There were present — Messrs J. P. Mattland (chief commissioner), Bradshow, Duncan, Clark, and Green.
CAPITALISATION.
Capitalisation was authorisad in the following cases : — John Tamblyn, section 6, block ix, Teviot ; George Philpot, section 7, block XI, Maerewhenua.
TIGSB HILI/.
A certificate of application for agricultural lease, section 22,|)block 11, Tiger Hill, for* warded by Wm Leaik, was approved of.
TBVIOT.
Messrs Arbuckle, Robertson, and Co., on behalf of John Tamblyn, applied to purchase five acres between section 36 and preemptive right in block v, Teviot.— Referred to the District Land Officer.
S. Uren applied to purchase six acres of land between sections 43 and 44, block n, Teviot.— Mr Pyke objected, and the application was refused, it appearing that the land was portion of a school site which had been reserved.
OROOXBTON.
The District Land Officer at Lawrence suggested that A. M'Pherson's license of section 3, block XII, Crookston, should be cancelled for non-payment of rent ; also H. Irwia's license of section 19, block 11, Tuapeka West.— Licensees to show cause why licenses should not be forfeited within fourteen days.
BEN&ER.
A memo, was received from the Undersecretary of Crown Lands intimating that the Government ha I determined to offer 11,000 acres of the Benger Commonage, for lease fjr pastoral purposes. — It was resolved — " That in the event of the Government determining to offer the land in question for pistorat leasing, the Board recommend that the torm be 10 years, and upset rental 2J per acite." ■ ii —
