Mr L. Maclean, under arrangement with the British and New Zealand Mortgage and Agency Company (Limited) reports for the week ending March 12th as follows-: ~ Fat Cattle. "-The number yarded to-day was 160 head, the larger porfion of which were of ordinary quality, only a few pens being primo. Lust week's maikefc being a full one, competition to-day was by no means-brisk,- and eevei al lota were passed in unsold. The market throughout, however, showed no depreciation in value as compared with last week's, tho quotations beinij about the same. Bullocks brought, from £4 15s to £8 15s ; row.s, ,from £3 to £6 153. I sold on account of Mr Heckler (Waikouati), seven cows at from £3 to £5 2i 6J ; Messrs J. G. Green 11 do at up to £6 5s j and on account of R. Charters, Esq. , (Mosßiei); eijththead of bullocks at from £6 17s 6d to £7 17s 6d j and quote prime beef 20s per 1001 b. Fat Calves.— Twenty-seven .were penned, and gold at from 7s 6J to 245. ' Fat Sheep.— An average supply of 2479 was penned, of which 379 were merinos. Nearly the whole lot pennod of both crossbreds and merinos were medium -weights and quali;y, there beiug only a few pens prime. From

Wool. — The following is tho latest cablegram from the Home market, dated London, 10th March: -"At. tho wool sales to-day 8500 bulcs were < ffored. The market continues steiicly, but without active demand." Store Sheep. — Thera still coutinues a tiemaiid for young crossbred aud merino sheep. I have no transactions during last week to re port. Sheepskins. — At our sale held on Monday last I submitted a moderate catalogue. The prices obtained were about equal to last week's. Butchers' pelts, Is 2d to Is 4d ; him')»kins, 10dtols4l. Hiiles.— Quotuions unaltered. There is a fairdtmand, especially for heavy good-quality hide?, and the following prices are obtained : Kxtra l.eavy weighls, 4£d ; good to heavy, 3id to 4d ; others, 2d to 3d per lb. Tallow.— A good demand, at for rough fat, 20s to 235 ; good to prime qu ility tallow, 25s to 33s 6.1.
