Auckland, November 24th. The body of John Morgan, gumdigger, who was drowned by the capsizing of a boat on the North'rn Wairoa on the 13th, has been recovered. Tho boly of his mate, Webb, is not yet found. The Auckland Bowling Club's season opened to-day, when the prize cups of the past season were presented to the winners, Messrs A. E. M'Kechnie (skip), E. P. Pas;e, H. R. George, and Captain J. M'Kenzie.
Wellington, November 26th.
The Hou, Mr Rolleston left this morning for the Wafrarapa district to inspect the land in Seventy Mile Bush, which will be placed in the market during the summer.

A newspaper called the "Eveninu Post" has been issued by the proprietors of the " Bay of Plenty Times."
Christchuhrch, November 25th, A new Bowling Ctu'i (the Canterbury) opened yesterday with a large attendance of members.

John Booth, a gardener residing at Groldhnrst, was found in his bnd with his throat cut last night. On the table was paper, on which was written, "lam mad, John Booth." Deceased had been drinking heavily lately.
