Report for the week ending Friday evening, the 29ih inst. :— Business in the grain trade is almost at stagnation point. Buyers are extremely diffident as to making purchases in almost any lines of produce offering, while sellers are equally disinclined to accept the prices offered. Wheat.— Tuscan, sound and fit for shipment, 4s 3d to 4s 4d per bushel, f.0.b. ; other wheats, 4s 2d to 4s 3d per bushel, f.o.b. ; second* class sample?, 3s 3d to 8s 8d per bushel according to condition and quality; chick wheat, 2s 3d to 2s 9d per bushel, delivered in Christchurch. Oats.— Bright milling quality, 2s to 2s lid per bushel, f.o.b. j long oats (feed), Is 8d to Is lid per bushel, f.o.b. or Christchurch. Barley,— First-class malting, 4s 4d to 4s 7d per bushel, delivered in Christohurch j second class malting and feed, 2s ii to 3* H per bushel, delivered in Ohristchurch. Grass-Seed. — Ryegrass— farmers' samples 3s 6d to 3s 9d per bushel ; machine dressed, 4s to 4s 3d per bufshel; cocksfoot, 3}d to 3sd per lb, f.o.b. Cheese and Butter.— sd to s£d for the former, and lid to ll£d for the latter.
