MELBOURNE GRAIN MARKET.

Messrs R. Goldsbbough and Co. report (13th April) :— We catalogued 5851 bags of grain for our sale to-day, and have sold privately and by public auction 5057 bags since our last report. There was an exceedingly large attendance of buyers, and biddings were very brisk throughout the sale, every lot of wheat catalogued being cleared at an advance of Id per bushel on our last week's rates. We sold a parcel of 10,000 bushels at 4s 6d, for shipment. Wo quote : Prime seed wheat, 4s 9d to 53 6d ; prime shipping, 43 6d ; prime milling, 4* sd ; medium to good, 4s Id to 4s 4d ; and interior to medium, 2s 6d to 4s per bushel. Flour: All good country brands are now worth from £9 5s to £9 7s 6^, and town milled £9 12s 6d per ton. Bran realised 10£ d, and pollard lid per bushel. Oats: The tone of the market is firm at late rates, and we quote prime seed, 3s to 43 l£d j prime milling, 3s 3d ; prime feed, 2s lid; medium to good, 2s 7d lo 2s 10d ; and iuferior to medium, 2s 4d to 2s 61 per bushel. Barley : This market has not improved, and prices remain at about the same as last reported — viz., prime seed, 43 to 4s 6d j prime malting, 3s 3d to 3s 4J ; medium to good, 2s lOd to 3s 2tl ; inferior to medium, 2s 61 to 2s 9d ; Cape and Oregon, 2s 6d to 23 lOd per bushel. Rye : We sold 60 bags at 3s OJd per bushel lor common, and 5s 2d was obtained for a very prime lot. Peas : The exhibits from the International Exhibition realised — white field and blue, 6s Id ; Prussian blue and Hobarc, 5s Id per bushel.
