DUNEDIN MARKETS.

Messrs Maclean and Co. report for the week ending 27th April as follows: —

Fat Cattle. — The market, to-day wai moderately supplied, 189 head being yarded, and this num'ier included about 25 head store?. The quality on the whole was fair to good, and prices realised were about equal to last week's quotations. Bullocks fetched from £4 10s to £11 s* ; cow*, £4 15* to £6 15s. We yarded 80 head. We quote prime beef at 22s 6cl per 1001 b.

F.it Calves. — Four were penned, and realised 14s to 19?. We sold three at. quota! ions.

Fat Sheep.— 2o27 were penned to-day, of which 190 were merinos, the remainder crossbreds. The quality was good, with several pens of prime wpalhors. Owing to the large number forward compared with last week, prices receded by Is per head. Crossbreds brought from 10s to l4s 3d ; merinos up to iK We sold, on account of Mr John Brucp, 176 crossbreds at from 13s I o 13s 6d ; on account of Messrs Mcsley Bro?., 68 do at 12s 6d ; on account of Mr G. M'Donald, 105 do nt 12s ; on account of Messrs A. and J. Brown, 69 prime do at 14* 3il ; on account of Mr Parker, 33 do at lls 6d ; and on account of Mr Wm. Moffat, 31 do at 13s 9J. We quote prime mutton at 2£cl per lb. Fat Lambs. — Eighteen were penned, and sold at 93 3d.

Fat Pics.— l 93 of all sorts were penned, and sold at from 15s to 64e. We sold 146 at quotations?. We quote prime pork at 4£d por lb. Wool. — Our friends Messrs Cargills, Gibbs, and Co. to-day received the following cablegram from London :—": — " Since the close of last series the market has been quiet. The total arrivals up to date comprise 363,000 bales, and subsequent arrivals are to be excluded from this series. The total quantity for disposal in this series, including old stocks, comprises 372,000 bales."

Sheepskins. — We submitted and disposed of a fair catalogue of skins at our sale on Moud.iy last, prices ruling similar to last week. There was the usual attendance of the trade, and prices were obtained as under : — For butchers' cross-breds, ordinary deccriptions, 2s 10Jto4s; and full-woolled skins, up to 5s 7d •, merinos, Is 8d to 3s SJ ; lambskins, up to 4s sd.

Hidea —During the week we have sold all lots on hand at 4?d per lb, heavy weights. The demand still cntinups brisk.

Tallow.— We have sold up to 26s for prime quality tallow, and 17s per cwt for rough fat. Lots are readily disposed of.

Grain. — Wheat : Prices recently quoted remain firm at 3a lOd for prime lots, and as values are likely to improve, there is still a tendency to hold. Secondary parcels are less inquired for. Quota! ions— 3s 6d to 3s 7d ; fowls' feed, 2s 3d to 2s 101. Oats are being enquired for, with an advai cc in price. During the week we have sold several parcels at from Is 8d to Is 9d per bushel for milling, and Is 6d to Is 7d for feed. Barley : Choice samples are saleable at 3s to 3s 3d, but secondary lots are void of sale.
