SUCCESSFUL VISIT.

Anglo-German Naval Pact. United Press Assn.—By TelegraphCopyright. LONDON, June 24. The diplomatic correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph.” telegraphing from Rome, says that the visit of Mr R. A. Eden (Minister for League of Nations Affairs) to Paris was far more successful than had been anticipated. Paris recognises that Great Britain’s action in concluding the Anglo-German naval agreement was dictated largely by the fear that a strict adherence to proprieties might have, resulted in another veto from France, with results as unfortunate as those following M. Louis Barthou’s Note of April, 1934. Nevertheless, the agreement gives Germany important naval superiority over France in the .North Sea and France is unhappy regarding the rate at which the expansion of the German fleet is being carried out.
