Britain Wants Promises From Germany.^ United Press Assn.—By Telegraph— Copyright. (Received June 25. 1.5 p.m.) LONDON. June 24. Tn order to establish the Empire’s marine security the British authorities are seeking undertakings from Germany in connection with the naval agreement, that German submarines will not attack British merchantmen and that British vessels in distant seas will be immune from attack from the German These proposals were submitted to Herr J. von Ribbentrop, who informed the British authorities that he could not give these undertakings pending consultation with his Government. The Germans, however, intimated “their willingness to abide by any* international naval agreements.
