Arrangements for Second Test Match. WELLINGTON FIXTURE. Mr IT. S. J. Goodman presided at the meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Hockey Association held in the Pioneer Sports Club last evening. The following were also present: Messrs P. N. Quartermain, C. S. Bellamy. C. C. Holland. I. Gunn, A. F. Preston. R. Oracle and W. H. Down. Mr W. Newsham (New Zealand selector), was also present. The secretary was instructed to write to the International Hockey Federation asking for particulars regarding affiliation, etc. Vlie'rhairman welcomed Mr Newsham and complimented him upon the very fine team which had been selected to meet the All-India team. The following umpires were appointed for provincial games: V. Auckland, Mersrs H. J. Hewitt and K. J. Watts; v. Taranaki, at Eltham, Messrs O. A. R. McKay and M. Priest; v. Waikato, at Hamilton, Messrs R. W. Bennett and one to be appointed: v. Piako. Messrs W. Cl. Fahling and R. C. Avery. The appointment of the umpires for Wairoa, Rodney and Thames were held The Hawke’s Bay Association advised that July 11 had been set down for the first Nordon Cup match against Wairarapa and August l for tne second match against Wanganui. The first date was approved, but it was decided to suggest an earlier date for the second game. Second Test Match. Particulars of the arrangements made for the second test match to be played at Athletic Park were received from the Wellington Hockey Association. The Wellington Rugby Union had agreed to postpone all senior matches set down to be played in Wellington on that date with the exception of one match which will be played after the hockey match. The Indian team will be accommodated at the Empire Hotel. The lack of preparation of the ground at Lancaster Park on Saturday last was commented on, and it was decided, to write to the Lancaster Park Board of Control expressing dissatisfaction at the condition of the ground. The New Zealand Red Cross Society made a further appeal for collections to be taken at the Indian team’s matches in New Zealand. Mr Goodman stated that all associations had been advised of the appeal and In mate! es to date collections have been taken for the benefit of sufferers in the Qnett?. earthquake. Betters of appreciation were sent to the Canterbury Football League for their courtesy in postponing matches on Saturday last and to the Tuahiwi Maoris for the entertainment given to the Indian team during the week end. A lengthy report on the southern tour was submitted by Mr C. C. Holland, who accompanied the team to Invercargill. Messrs S. O. Holland and W. Newsham were appointed joint managers for the New Zealand team for the second test, and Mr S. G. Holland for the third test at Auckland. Metiers W. A. Scott (Wellington), and W. H. Down were appointed umpires for the second test.
