Effort for Funds Meets With Success. PLUNKET SOCIETY AIDED. Everything that makes for, success attended the annual ball of the Lin-coln-Tai Tapu branch of the Plunket Society-, held on Saturday night in the Lincoln Hall. No detail ' had' been overlooked in the preparations for the event, and an organising committee, comprising Mesdames J. W. Calder (president), G. Mcßean, R. E. Alexander, R. M. Morten, W. G. Macartney, G. Stoddart, W. A. Johnson, S. J. Sidey, T. Foster, I. W. Weston, L. Thompson, C. N. C. Powell, J. H. McKenzie, D. Gillanders, A. Hughes and J. S. Simpson, and Misses A. Welsh, T. Henry and A. Haughton. is to be highly congratulated on its great success. Mrs N. Weston, as branch treasurer, made an efficient secretary. Fritz Sej-mour’s orchestra supplied spirited music, extras being played by Miss Wyn Withell and Dr F. C. A'Court. Hr Hilgendorf thanked all on behalf of the committee for attending and helping to make the function a success, making special mention of Mr S. P. Barnett for lending flags for decorating, of Lincoln College, and of Sir Heaton Rhodes for providing flowers and greenery. A novelty dance was won by Miss D. Price and Mr Moffat, and a competition by Mr F. Withell and Mr B. Moran. The decorations were carried out in the jubilee colours of small red, white and blue flags, artistically draped with lights shaded in vari-coloured magic lanterns. The lounge and supper-room were decorated with greenery and large bowls of flowers. A dainty homemade supper was served in an adjoining marquee. Those present were: Mesdames R. M. Morten, R. E.
