MAYOR’S FUND CONCERT.
“The Coal and Blanket Fund is in a very low state,” said the Mayor (Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P.) this morning, in announcing that arrangements had been made for a first-class concert in aid of the fund. The concert will be held on Sunday, July 7. in the Theatre Royal, the use of which has been provided free bv Messrs J. C. Williamson, Ltd. The Woolston Brass Band will combine with Derry’s Military Band, and members of the Christchurch Municipal Band will provide ushers and doorkeepers. Newspaper advertising will be free of charge and Messrs Charles Begg and Co. will .grant the free use of a piano. The services of the performing artists, who will include Miss Rita Miller, the Australian coloratura soprano, Miss Cicelv Audibert and Messrs D. McGill and M. T. Dixon, will be given free of charge. Application has been made for permission to charge Is for seats in the stalls and gallery, and Is 6d for the dress circle.
