BOROUGH SCHEMES.
Purchase of Land Urged in New Plymouth. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH. May 27 The suggestion that the New Ply* mouth Borough Council should purchase eight thousand acres of partly developed farming land between the town and Mount Egmont was placed before the council to-night by the chief inspector. Mr R. Day. The object of the scheme is to preserve the town’s water supply from pollution, and to use the land for commercial afforestation.
