On Friday evening, members of the Sumner-Redcliffa branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association tendered a farewell social to Messrs Tom and Keith Wilson, two popular members of the branch who are leaving the district. In making the presentation of a pair of gauntlet gloves and a set of pipes, the president (Mr C. Dixey) referred to the good work and generosity of the departing members. Members are making arrangements to entertain the newly elected Mayor and councillors at the clubrooms on Thursday evening The invitation extencfed by the branch was accepted at a meeting of the Borough Council, antd an enjoyable evening is anticipated.
