LATE MRS W. MACFARLANE.
The death of Mrs Alinnie Alargaret Macfarlane, widow of Air Walter Macfarlane, of Kaiwarra. Culverden, which occurred in Christchurch on Saturday, will be deeply regretted by her wide circle of friends in North Canterbury and Christchurch. The hospitality of Airs Alacfarlane at her beautiful home in Culverden was wellknown to residents of North Canterbury, as was also her generosity to and keen interest in many benevolent societies. Airs Macfarlane was a daughter of the late Air and Mrs Robert Wilson, of Dunedin, and was brought up in that city. Mrs Guthrie, of Dunedin, is her sister, and the late Airs R. W. Brown, of Christchurch, was another sister. Airs Alacfarlane is survived by three daughters. Mrs Sholto Douglas, of Ethclton, Mrs Gerald Mathias, of Cave, and Airs Colin Douglas, of Waimate. Mr L. C. R. Macfarlane, of Culverden. is her son The funeral took place yesterday afternoon at the Lin wood Cemetery, j the Rev K. T. Larsen, of Waiau, conducting the service The bearers were | Messrs L. R.
