OFFERINGS STOLEN.

Salvation Army Citadel Broken Into. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, May 27. Between the hours of nine o’clock on Sunday night and eight o’clock this morning a burglar forced an entry into a room used as the office in the Salvation Army Citadel and stole collections and offerings amounting to over £lO. Monetary gifts in envelopes for the past two Sundays, together with last Sunday’s plate collection, were placed in two pouches and then locked away in a cupboard in the office. When he went to the citadel this morning. Adjutant Thorne discovered that the office door had been forced open, that the lock on the cupboard was smashed right off and that the pouches had been stolen.
