BIG FIELDS.

Canterbury Park Trotting Club. ACCEPTANCES DECLARED. The following acceptances have been received for the first day of the Panterbury Park Trotting dub’s winter meeting, which will be held on June 1 and 3. 11.20 a.m.

Wellington Racing Club’s Winter Meeting. (Special to the “Star.” WELLINGTON. This Day. A most attractive programme, with the same stakes in all the open events, but increases in all the minor events, bringing each to £2OO, has been adopted by the stewards for the Wellington Racing Club’s winter meeting on July 9, 11 and 13. The stakes for the three days amount to £O2OO, an increase of £430 on last year’s total, which was also an increase on the previous year’s figures. The programme of events is the same, except that the Matai and Mariri Steeplehave been interchanged, the former being for horses that, at the time of entry, have not won a jumping race worth £250 to the winner (instead of at the time of starting), and the latter for hacks and hunters without other restriction. A change has been made in the penalty conditions, horses winning after the declaration of weights now being liable to re-handicap, instead of carrying fixed penalties. The programme for future classic events has also been approved, and it is similar to last year's.
