SEVERE ECONOMIES.
France Will Try to Balance Budget. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received May 28, 2 p.m.) LONDON, May 27. The Paris correspondent of “ The Times” says that the Cabinet agreement is complete, members accepting, after a hard struggle, M. Germain Martin’s demand for severe economies and further reforms to be brought within the Government’s scope. The Government is expected to make a supreme effort to balance the Budget without devaluation or inflation and also to stabilise currencies. A more confident atmosphere prevailed this evening. Financial experts defiantly declare that the Bank of France can protect the franc against speculation, -whether the Government likes it or not.
