SKI CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Schoolgirls’ Meeting at Ball Hutt. (Special to the “ Star.”) THE HERMITAGE. May 26. On splendid snow below the Ball Hut the secondary school •girls from the North and South Islands competed in the championship. D. Standage was the winner of the individual championships, and Otago Girls’ High School (D. Standage, #l. Kunnerscum. J. Whiteside and O. Richan) won the teams match. D. Standage showed herself a confident young skier, doing particularly well in the downhill race and slalom. In the teams relay race she had a lap lead, and increased it for her team to win by more than a lap. j The relay race was run this morning before the North Island girls left for j the Hermitage. The remainder of the i oarty practised on the slope until lunch and then skied as far as Husky Camp. and. in a few cases. Blue Lake, where they were met by buses and brought to the Hermitage. The track was in good order, and the girls were very pleaded with the run down. To-morrow all wi’.l depart on their return to school. There are no fitter girls in the Dominion.
