MILK IN SCHOOLS.

Government Asked to Contribute. “ Star ” Parliamentary Reporter. WELLINGTON. This Day. A special request that the Government should contribute half the cost of supplying free milk to all school children in the Dominion was placed before the Minister of Health, Sir Alexander Young, to-day by a large deputation of persons interested in child welfare. It was estimated that the cost would vary from £135,000 to £168,000 annually. The Minister assured the deputation of his sympathy with the proposal, as he appreciated the value of milk for children, and promised to consider the suggestions carefully.
