Raisin Ginger Bread.
To-Day’s Recipe.
Take £ cup sugar. i cup butter, i cup treacle, i cup sour milk. 4 eggs. h cup seeded raisins. 1 dessertspoonful ground ginger. i teaspoonful cinnamon. 4 dessertspoonful carbonate soda (dissolved in hot water). Ilb flour, or enough to make a good batter. Cream the butter and sugar, add the treacle and spices, and beat the egg yolks and whites separately. Add the yolks and milk to the mixture and stir in the flour and whites alternately, then the soda water and raisins. Bake in a well-greased tin for forty minutes.
