SUMNER NOTES.

A welcome was accorded the Grand Secretary of the Juvenile Order of Good Templars of New Zealand. Brother F. C. Pace. Sister Pace and Sister Gladys Pace, their daughter, on their arrival at Lyttelton, by Brother H. C. Ford, superintendent of junior works of the Sumner Pride Lodge of Juvenile Good Templars. Brother Ford was accompanied by Sister L. Ford and Mr R. Clark, who took his car over the hill to bring the visitors to Sumner. Brother Pace, who has been elected to his office for the second time by the Grand Lodge, is paying a visit to all the South Island Templars and Lodges. A reception was accorded him in Sumner under the organisation of Brother L. Clark, assistant superintendent ot junior works of the Sumner Lodge. A number of members of the lodge, together with their friends, were present. An enjoyable evening was spent, the programme including vocal and elocutionary items, games and competitions. Personal. Recent guests at Haeremni, Sumner, were: Miss B. Shanks, Mr Hi slop, Mrs E. Menzies, Mr S. Simpson (Dunedin), Mr and Mrs Russell, Mrs Haines, Mr Acutt, Mrs Kane, Mr and Mrs lan Banks and family. Mr Hammett. Mrs Ken Henderson and son (Oxford), Mr and Mrs Henry (Lincoln), Mrs Tapper and Mrs Tapper (2) (Invercargill), Miss E. Beattie (Hornby), Mrs and Miss Rhodes (Gore), Mrs and Miss Zouch (Ashburton), Mr and Mrs M’Nee.
