AFTERNOON PARTY.
Miss Nancy Gard’ner was hostess yesterday at an afternoon party given at her home, Cashel Street, West, in honour of Miss Joan Cooper, whose marriage will take place next week. The drawing-room was decorated with bowls of mixed flowers, and the hall and the dining-room where tea was served with bowls of sunflowers and marigolds. An amusing competition was won by Miss Halmai Loughnan. Miss Gard’ner was assited by her mother, Mrs Murray Gard-ner, and mother, Mrs Murray Gard’ner, and guests, each of whom brought an article to help stock the work-bag made for the guest of honour by Miss Gard’ner, were Misses Joan and Ann Cooper, Miss Allen, Mrs F. S. Grant, Misses Betty Nancarrow, Halmai Loughnan, Irene Cracroft-Wilson (King Country), Prue Wynn Williams, Joan Maling, Molly Black, and Molly Chapman.
