Captain and Mrs E. J. Kenny, Jeffreys Road, are staying at Timaru. Miss Dora Neville will leave Christchurch next week for Dunedin where she will make her home. Dr Ada Paterson, director of School Health, is expected to arrive in Christchurch towards the end of next week. Mrs Grey Colbeck, Cashmere Hills, left on Thursday evening to spend a week in Wellington. Mrs F. Keegan. Akaroa, is visiting her sister, Mrs F. Truscott. Mount Pleasant, Redcliffs. Mrs Donaldson and Miss Weekley, Christchurch, are spending a holiday at Akaroa. Mrs J. Hepburn, Christchurch, is visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs James Glynan, Akaroa. Mr and Mrs Farquhar Young will return on Monday from a visit to the Hermitage, Mount Cook. Dr Tessie Craig has returned to Wellington after spending a few weeks in Christchurch. Miss Kathleen Bland will arrive in Christchurch this week-end, and will stay with Miss Barbara Bloxam, Weston Road. Mrs H. H. Doughty, who has been spending a few days with her mother. Mrs John Rennie, Fendalton, has returned to her home in Gore. Miss Anne Lindsay, Sydney, who is the guest of Miss Sally Lindsay. Cashmere Hills, will leave to-morrow to stay with Miss L, Cartwright, Timaru. Mrs Guy Cotterill, Merivale Lane, and Miss Isabel Turrell, Rhodes Street, will leave to-morrow to spend a short holiday in Marlborough. Mrs Lonsdale and Miss Betty Lonsdale, England, will leave earlv next week for Dunedin, Invercargill, and the Milford Track. Mrs E. C. Studholme, Waimate, and Miss S. M. Wells, Harakeke Street, will return to-day from the Franz Josef Glacier. Miss Mary Henning, of the /taff of the Karitane Baby Hospital, Cashmere, is visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs B W. Henning, Akaroa. Miss Edith Taylor, Valley Green, Oxford, is the guest of her aunt, Mrs E. D. Brewster, Mersey Street, St Albans. Miss Janet Studholme, who has been the guest of Mrs C. Wells, H trakeke Street, returned on Thursday to Waimate, Mrs Rainer, England, who was in town last week as the guest of Mrs J. Dryden Hall, Cashmere Hills, is now staying with her daughter, Mrs John Hall, Hororata. Miss H. M’Kay, Beckenham, left to-day for Greymouth, where she will spend the week-end. She will then make a tour of the South Island, including the lakes.

Miss Barbara Gould, Fendalton, is visiting her sister. Mrs R. M. Innes, Orari. Mrs James Hay, Fairlie, will be a visitor to Christchurch for the Roberton—Morris wedding on Tuesday. Madame Alice Gow r Burns and Mrs Harris, Milner, who have been staying at Timaru, have returned home. Mrs W. Willes and Miss V. Hynes, Otahuna, returned this morning from a short visit to Wellington. Mrs J. A. S. Wait, St Elmo Courts, is spending a holiday with her daughter, Mrs M. Turner, Featherston. Mrs W. M. Shand will arrive from Wellington to-morrow to stay with her sister, Mrs C. Cooper, Brown’s Road. Mrs Struan Gardner, Southland, is the guest of Mrs A. L. B. Ross. Fendalton. Mrs E. G. M’Cullough, Bealev Avenue, has returned from a visit to the West Coast Glaciers. Miss Thomson, Montreal Street, is spending the week-end with Mrs Forbeg O’Rorke, Ilcrorata. Miss Betty Hanrahan, Hastings, is spending a holiday at Greymouth, and is the guest of Mrs J. Kennedy. Admiral Campbell and Mrs Campbell, England, arrived in Christchurch to-day to spend a few days here. Mrs W. 11. Holt, England, who is staying at “ Khandallah,” Papanui Road, will leave for Wellington next Thursday. Mrs Marmaduke Bethell, Pahau Pastures, and Miss Isbel Rutherford, Montrose, will leave this evening to make a tour of the North Island. Mr and Mrs H. A. Knight, Racecourse Hill, have taken Mrs Templeman’s flat in Papanui Road for a few weeks. Miss Mildred Cooke, Merivale, returned to-day from a visit to her aunt, Mrs C. Leslie Rutherford, Macdonald Downs. Mr and Mrs Edwyn Wilding, Southland, who have been spending a holiday with Mrs F. Wilding, “ Founhope,” St Martins, have returned Mrs Hugonin and Misses Bullen, “ The Lakes,” Kaikoura, who have returned from England, are at present staying in Christchurch, and are at Warner’s Hotel. Recent guests at The Cafe, New Brighton, were Miss Vincent (Christchurch), Misses Deans (North Canterbury), Miss Gorley (North Canterbury), Mrs Lacock (Christchurch), Mrs Fletcher (Christchurch), Mr and Mrs Ellen and Peter Ellen (Woodend).
