Cause of Immodesty.

Dear Sir.—May I beg a little space in your valuable paper to comment on " Also Married’s” letter of February 11. Yes, the men get away with it all the time. The woman pays, and for life. A great deal of the immodesty of to-day is due to the way the youth is trained right from the cradle. And to inculcate respect and modesty is part of the parent’s duty to its offspring. At the beaches and sunbathing. “ Also Married ” and all modest people would not trouble to give " Skinny and mature women in bathing costumes ” a second glance. Certainly we would all look the second time at a good figure, either a man or a woman decently clad in a bathing costume and in its proper place. What " Also Married ” tells us about women patients in hospital wards is quite true. I’ll give an instance. On one occasion, I was a patient in hospital for some ten weeks. A very sweet nurse was tucking me up for the night. She asked me very sweetly if I was comfortable, and I said. “ Yes, nurse, I appreciate your loving care," and added, " home was never like this.” She doubted me, but I assured her that it was correct. She casually remarked. “ Oh, yes, I know those men who are all smiles for the nurses and those whose first look and smile is for their wives.” A keen reader pf character that nurse. I endorse “ Also Married’s ” remarks to the girls who marry just for pleasures. Trusting I have not taken up too much of your space,— I am. etc., HEAR! HEAR!
